DIRECTOR
ROBERT SCRATCH MITCHELL
Directing is the perfect marriage between the creative vision for a project and the dynamic aspects of leading people and managing resources.
Prior to directing film and TV, Scratch Mitchell came from a strong background of directing aerial demonstration sequences. This was most notable when Scratch was the commander and team lead of the RCAF Snowbirds Jet Team.
It is no surprise that Scratch was able to take this passion for choreographing air show performances and turn it towards film and TV. Scratch has directed on two prime time Discovery Channel series; Highway Thru Hell and Airshow. During this time, Scratch showed his wherewithal as a director during a near tragic incident while filming. Cool head, ease with people and dialogue with authorities facilitated a compelling story while respecting the gravity of the situation. His talents are often seen as a second unit director for aerial sequences in film and TV: Netflix Hold the Dark and the TBS show The Detour.
Scratch has also been busy directing documentaries, commercial work and music videos. Recently Scratch won an award for a music video he directed in Vancouver.
